Copyright claims are dramatically increasing in frequency. Media sources, such as the Associated Press (AP), utilize the services of “policing” corporations to troll the internet searching for unlicensed use of copyrighted photos or other media. Please be aware that any photos or texts you pull from the internet are most likely copyrighted in some manner. Unlicensed use of these copyrighted media can result in claims or lawsuits against the parish. Notifications of copyright infringement are often received via email from companies such as Pic Right International or Higbees and should have the copyrighted photo or text in their email.
